As my daughter once described, I'm a "mediocre cook." But there's one thing I make, according to my son, which is "fire" (it's a good thing btw if you're not subscribed to the Gen Z dialect).
I happen to love this Pizza dough mostly because it legit takes a few mins to make. And I really try to make it sparingly so my kids don't get sick of it.
I double it up because it's very "moreish", always leaves them wanting more!
Here it is (with my hacks!)
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast (if you buy the little envelopes you will have some left over. Envelopes typically contain 2 1/ teaspoons. Fold the remaining yeast up tightly and keep refrigerated for the next time)
(I use fleischmanns pizza dough yeast or rapid rise, ain't got time for the yeast to do its thing)
Combine and wait till the yeast proofs then add:
- 2 cups all purpose flour, plus more for kneading and dusting your work surfaces
- 1 teaspoon sugar
(NOTE I DO ABOUT 3/4 CUP SUGAR HERE THE KIDS LOVE IT)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt (less if you only have table salt handy)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
- cornmeal (optional)
DEF NO NEED FOR CORNMEAL
